According to the Blues website, if Larsson isn't fit it will be DeRidder (McLeish mentioned him by name and he did that when Kapo was injured and he said "McSheffery or one or two other options"). And Kapo is back in full training next week. Could be ready for the following :banner: week. |

Put Larsson in centre-mid and put De Ridder and the right will do. |

IMO it was no coincidence that the second half of the Newcastle game we struggled with Seb Larrsson sidelined. Parnaby played well but deeper. No surprise he is more of a defender. I like him. I would have had Nafhti in midfield and moved DJ to right wing. De Ridder has skill but lacks defensive sturdiness. Like Zarate he is a substitute impact player. I would not put Larrsson in midfield to accommodate De Ridder good as he is. That would be my strategy at Reading but then there may be a lot of variables that I do not know about. Just beat Reading and I do not care if Maik Taylor plays centre forward! KRO! |

i hope to god de Ridder doesnt stuff up his big chance. i want to see a consistant and effective de Ridder in the same midfield as Seb 'should be captain' Larsson. Johnson lost control of the central midfield and didnt stamp his authority on it for the Newcastle game and quite a few games i've seen this season. Muamba's end product in an attacking sense is actually disgusting, everytime he moves forward with the ball you have to shield your eyes. he wasted a few opportunities last Monday. and people keep saying he's only 19 and that he'll get better, but if at that age you can't even kick a ball straight or have no idea what to do so you just swing at the ball and hope something becomes of it then you've got some serious problems. |

I think if De Ridder does come in for Larsson he'll have a massive point to prove and he has bags of potential to live up to it, I know myself I have sounded like a broken record saying it all the time but the guy at least deserves a place in the 16. |

I doubt that he will get any REAL chance under Alex! I hope I am wrong. Anyway I'm sure that other clubs (Ajax, PSG and also some Premiership clubs) are waiting in the wings. Unbelievable that such a attacking, creative midfielder is wasted in the Blues Reserves, while McSheff gets chance after chance after chance ... |

De Ridder was very good (MOTM) - under Bruce - against Aston Villa and Wigan. And he did very well - under McLeish - next to Forssell in the match against Manchester City. He seemed to have a off-day against Huddersfield - like all players did - but was involved in the only goal for the Blues on that black day, according to the media. I follow most of the matches of Birmingham City live on TV and I think Blues lack creativity full stop, something DDR can fill in, IMHO ... I rest my case ! |

You've got them glasses with the pink lenses on again. DeRidder was awful at Blackburn, couldn't get the ball past the first man all night and corners were dreadful! And against Villa he was substituted at half time! Bruce played him less and less and so has McLeish. DeRidder has a great talent but he's one of those Bebatov types who has no stomache for the fight (IMO). I wish we had taken up the option on Palacios, who has hardly been out of the Wigan side! I would like to see DeRidder get a chance and like Zarate at Portsmouth, we will see what he can contribute. |

If he does get his chance... which looks unlikely as larsson seems to hopeful of playing... but if De Ridder does start then I hope he plays a lot better than Zarate did against Portsmouth. He was awful. Given his chance and didn't take it. |

Like everyone I would like to see De Ridder given some time to impress, and really feel today might be his chance. More likely by coming off the bench but still an opportunity for him. Just don't know how bad sebs injury was so can't really know. Just got a feeling. This weather better improve, on a train to Reading today... We all saw how much talent he has when he was playing for Holland U21's, if only he could bring that to the table for us and we would have in my opinion the best attacking options in midfield and up front of any of the teams around us. |

Daniel stood out because he had a good tournament as an overage player in Holland's u21. But ask youself why Bruce now McLeish are not playing him. And why Celta Vigo and Ajax let him go. |

He had a very good tournament as a good player. Nothing average about him when I watched. Admittedly it was U21's but still showed his skills, and they looked considerably more valuable to us than McSheffs showing this season (this coming from a Mcsheff fan). Not saying he will blow everyone away but he is a good creative player with a bit of flair and would like to see him show us it. P.s The fans at Ajax really like him and Celta only let him go because they got relegated and so didn't buy him from the loan deal. |

why is most of your points based on only your own opininion and not fact, as far as i know he turned down a return to Ajax in favour of joining Blues as he was wanted by Bruce, now whether you think he is any good or not is irrelevant tell it how it is poppa :) |
